Jasmine Rice
Description
Jasmine rice is a staple and I think it has a better flavor than regular rice.
Once I learned how to make this dish, it comes out perfectly every time!
Tips
Use a pot with a lid that sits tightly on the pot to prevent excess steam from escaping.
After the rice is done cooking, fluff the rice a bit with a wooden spoon but then re-cover the rice in the pot to continue the cooking process for 5-10 more minutes.
List of Ingredients
- 2 Cups of Jasmine Rice
- 4 Cups of Cold Water
Recipe Steps
- Pour the rice and the cold water into a medium-sized pot
- With the pot uncovered, heat on medium heat until the water/rice is slightly boiling
- Mix with a wooden spoon just a few times
- Cover the pot and reduce the heat to as low as possible
- Cook for 17 minutes
- Once done, fluff the rice a bit with a wooden spoon but then re-cover the rice in the pot to continue the cooking process for 5-10 more minutes
- Serve directly from the pot or put on a plate to serve family-style (the rice stays hot for a surprisingly long time on a plate!)
